frequently asked questions.
I get it - you’ve got questions, and I’ve got answers. Let’s clear up the mysteries of spray tanning and teeth whitening so you feel confident before booking.
Spray Tan FAQs
Q: How long will it last?
A: With proper aftercare (see “_____” ;)), you can expect your tan to last 7–10 days - optimal color through days 5-7, with a gradual and even fade from there.
Q: When can I shower after my appointment?
A: As a general rule of thumb, 1-4hr. The longer you wait, the darker your tan will develop. Wait the recommended development time I give you at your appointment before rinsing. Otherwise, you’ll wash away your bronze before it sets.
Q: What do I wear during the tan?
A: Totally up to you! Some clients go nude for no tan lines, others wear undies or swimsuits. I’ll make sure you’re comfortable either way.
Q: I’m pregnant — can I spray tan?
A: Spray tanning is considered safe for pregnant women, but always check with your doctor first.
Q: Will I be orange?
A: Absolutely not! I custom-blend your solution to compliment your skin tone and desired depth of color. Think sun-kissed bronze, never orange.
Q: When should I tan before an event? Vacation?
A: I recommend tanning 2 days prior to an event and the day before leaving for your vacation. It is always recommended to book a trial a minimum of 2 weeks before tanning for a special occasion.
Q: Why does my tan look like it’s gone after my initial rinse?
A: Don’t worry! Only the initial bronzer rinses away in the shower. Your tan will take up to 24hr to develop and will come back.
Q: Can I workout after my tan?
A: It is recommended to wait a minimum of 12hr after your spray tan to allow your glow proper time to develop.
Teeth Whitening FAQs
Q: How white will my teeth get?
A: Results vary, but most clients see a 6-8 shade improvement in just one session!
Q: How long does the whitening take?
A: Our in-studio whitening session takes approximately 1hr. With the addition of the boost treatment, 1.5hr.
Q: Is it safe for my teeth?
A: Yes! I use professional-grade products designed to whiten without damaging your enamel.
Q: Does it hurt?
A: Most clients don’t experience pain, but if your teeth are sensitive, it is recommended to add on our Boost Remineralizing Treatment. Any sensitivity you may experience will be minor and won’t last longer than 24hr.
Q: How long will results last?
A: With good oral care and by avoiding major stain culprits (coffee, red wine, smoking), results can last 6–12 months.
Q: Can I eat right after?
A: Stick to the “white diet” for a few hours following your treatment. Think “if it would stain a white shirt, it will stain my teeth”.
Q: What are the ingredients in your whitening gel?
A: The active ingredient in our whitening gel is 24% food-grade hydrogen peroxide.
Q: Is it pregnancy safe?
A: Our teeth whitening is considered safe for pregnant women, but always check with your doctor first.
Q: What if I have sensitive teeth?
A: I recommend pairing your whitening with our Boost Remineralizing Treatment. A desensitizing gel designed to fortify enamel and help make your whitening results last longer. The Boost Treatment is used prior to your whitening session to provide immediate sensitivity relief, reinforce your enamel, and enhance longevity.
